是以傳說魔女蓓優妮塔（Bayoneta）為主角、融合天使惡魔等西方神話傳說題材而成的動作遊戲，故事接續前作，敘述與巴爾德（Balder）的死鬥後數個月，蓓優妮塔與好友貞德（Jeanne）在對抗天使時，因為召喚出來的魔獸失控，使得貞德的靈魂被吸入魔界。為了拯救貞德的靈魂，蓓優妮塔透過恩佐（Enzo）取得情報，前往被稱為「魔界大門」的隱密靈峰。

　　為了進入魔界，蓓優妮塔將同時面對有機型態的天使與無機型態的惡魔大軍的雙重威脅。

　　遊戲中玩家可透過搖桿與按鈕輸入的組合來施展各式各樣華麗的連續技，藉由間不容髮的閃避來發動能讓時間流逝變緩的「魔女時間」，以積蓄的魔力針對單一敵人發動爽快的「拷問攻擊」，以及可以持續召喚大魔獸進行大規模掃蕩攻擊的新招式「闇影巔峰（Umbran Climax）」。

　　遊戲中收錄了種類豐富的武器可供選擇，從近距離肉搏、遠距離射擊到威力與破綻皆大的強力粉碎攻擊等，具備不同的特性。同一種武器還分為安裝於手部或腳部兩套不同的連續技。玩家可以自由設定手腳安裝的武器來打造自己的戰鬥風格，最多可同時裝備 2 種武器在戰鬥中隨時切換。

　　遊戲中的故事劇情關卡隱藏了被稱為「穆斯貝爾海姆（Muspelheim）」的挑戰關卡，算是製作團隊給高手玩家的挑戰書，其中設定有各種嚴苛的過關條件，順利過關的話將能獲得褒獎道具。
