「Fire Emblem」系列最新作品的舞台，是以4個王國與1個聖地組成的世界「艾雷歐斯大陸」。千年以前，人類和邪龍之間掀起了戰爭。人類借助異界的英雄「紋章士」的力量，各國戰士團結一致地奮戰，在這場曠日經久的戰爭的最後，終於封印了邪龍。然而，封印之力隨年月漸弱，邪龍復活的跡象開始顯現……

本作的主角為神龍「琉爾」。主角在歷經與邪龍的戰爭後，似乎因為陷入了千年的沉睡，無法憶起自己的身份。本作是為了阻止邪龍復活，與在各國相遇的夥伴們一起戰鬥的角色扮演模擬遊戲。

主角可以喚醒寄宿於戒指的異界英雄「紋章士」。主角和夥伴們戴上戒指後，便能借助紋章士的力量來提升能力值，或是使用更強的能力等等。此外，紋章士與角色「ENGAGE」（結合）後，更能使出強大的必殺技。

與各國的人以及寄宿於戒指的紋章士邂逅，一邊加深緣分，一邊為守護世界而戰，開始壯大的冒險。
