尤其在學會了名為「兄弟動作」的特別合作技能後，便能夠探索各式各樣的區域。

戰鬥方面，可享受融入了瑪利歐特色的動作要素的指令式戰鬥。
攻擊時抓準時機按下特定按鍵就能增加造成的傷害，還能成功發動強大的「兄弟攻擊」。
防禦時同樣看準時機按下按鍵，便可閃躲敵人的攻擊或是造成反擊效果。

在柯連庫塔魯大地之中會遇見各式各樣的人物，除了和瑪利歐們一起行動的夥伴之外，亦有個性獨特的人物以敵人身分阻擋在前。
