◆薩爾達公主踏上旅途
廣大的海拉魯各地出現了不明裂縫，並且引發將人與物體吞沒的「神隱」現象，劍士林克也因而失去蹤跡。倖存的薩爾達公主為了拯救人民與林克，踏上海拉魯巡迴之旅。
◆妖精托力與「複製」之力。
薩爾達公主遇見了妖精「托力」並得到了托力之杖，能夠藉其力量使出「複製」之力，複製海拉魯中各式各樣的物品，例如桌子、木箱、床等等。任何東西只要複製過一次，隨時隨地都能再現。比方說可以做出桌子或床來跳過擋住去路的懸崖，要使用哪個複製品以及如何使用，全都交由玩家的選擇與判斷，變化出各式各樣的闖關方式。
◆連怪物也可「複製」。
就連盤踞海拉魯的怪物也可被「複製」，並用以代替薩爾達公主戰鬥。依照狀況與屬性選擇適合的怪物，在戰鬥中活用智慧制定的戰略就成了關鍵所在。除了戰鬥之外，還可以借助飛行怪物的力量進行空中滑翔、使用炎系怪物燃燒草木等等，為薩爾達公主的冒險提供支援。
